Dustin Ray - Skater of The Beer 2012
First I have to explain the name of this award, for the last time I will do that. Skater of the beer is just a name to make us turn the head to things that matters, alcohol and mess. Not necessarily a skater got to win this.

One primary thing to one receive the Rory Gallagher trophy is, I got to know the person. I have never met Dustin Ray, but after his death I realized how great was his contribution to underground ways of living, not just in surf, and it worth the prize. When I was a kid, I watched the guy on the Lost videos and he was always talking shit out of his head with a drunk attitude and it had a huge impact in my life. Old classic rock was a thing from another planet, hardcore bands scene was full of low self-esteem assholes (and it got worse each year), so I just had eyes to these sea gamblers, and Dustin was the center of it.
The underground and mainstream united forces through the internet and fashion, everybody wants to be different, artist, liberal, but the world still worse than ever, hope is not word right now.
All hail to Dustin Ray, all hail to the exaggerated beer drinking, all hail to fuck you society (not just show the middle finger, fuck life all the way), all hail to XXI century mediocrity art, even thou this effort will have no use, but still, I have to say it.
The Murphy´s Irish Stout is the Rory Gallagher Trophy this year, and it will be delivery to Mike Jones, friend of D.Ray and owner of AZHIAZIAM
