5 Years ago today(April 22), skateboarding lost one of its modern godfathers Fausto Vitello, co-founder of Independent Trucks and Thrasher Magazine. When almost everyone else was closing up shop or had already left skateboarding for dead; Fausto was hitting the road and the presses helping relaunch skateboarding as an urban street thing, changing skateboarding forever. First Darkslide in Surfing, Zoltan Torkos

Zoltan Torkos of http://zoltantorkos.com/ the Winner of Volcom 10k Kickflip Challenge, pulls off the first Darkslide in Surfing.
This guy is getting famous.
A Darkslide is when you ride the board upside down, in this case on the fin side. This can be tricky as you don't wax the bottom of your surfboard. This is a skateboard trick that was originally only done on land and invented by Rodney Mullen. This is water and nobody ever thought this was even possible.

I had a dream, that a thousand people had die. It was not like the other

dreams, in the past were ten thousand deaths. What a shock for me, seeing

those people suffering to death without any sore of help, but still, I

stood with my blood running cold in my veins, no will to save,to care,

worst, the load I was carrying in my back no longer exist, I was free.

At the end I traded a thousand lifes for my mind to feel better, and for

which second the clock had ticked, it got delightful. Nobody watched, no

clues at the scene, it has been perfect.

I believe it was the right thing to happen.
